Job description

Moldova Red Cross Society  (hereinafter referred to as MRCS) is a non-governmental, non-profit, politically neutral organization operating under the Geneva Conventions of 1949, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova No. 234/1992 dated 12.01.1992, and the Law No. 139 from 05.10.2001 on the "Moldova Red Cross Society" which constitutes the Red Cross Status and the Statute of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Currently, MRCS is in a period of intense development, and thanks to our partners, we are involved in several humanitarian projects. In order to carry out these projects, we are looking for professional individuals in the field.

In the process of developing partnerships and implementing programs related to the Disaster Management department, we are in search of new colleagues.

Responsibility

Main Responsibilities:
     1. Assisting the branch director in organizing, managing, and monitoring the activities related to Mobile Volunteer Teams for Crisis Response (hereinafter MVTC);

     2. Compiles monthly/quarterly and annual reports and presents compiled reports to the Branch Director and the Central Body's Disaster Management Coordinator;

     3. Collects, records, and regularly updates the MVTC database;

     4. Organizes according to approved plans the execution and timely monitoring of MVTC activities, in coordination with the Disaster Management Coordinator at the central office;

     5. Supports the mobilization process of MVTCs in emergency/disaster situations by gathering leaders and team members in emergency situations according to standards;

     6. In close collaboration with local authorities, conducts briefing sessions on branch activities and subsequent actions related to disaster management, as well as for emergency cases.

     7. Coordinates activities with the project coordinator (disaster management) from the Central Office;

     8. Ensures collaboration with the Local Public Administration bodies regarding the implementation of the Project/Program;

     9. Provides support to the Branch Director in identifying, when necessary, an authorized location for the storage and preservation of humanitarian aid, by collaborating with APL bodies;

     10. If necessary, acts as a substitute for the Branch Director at the Territorial Control Point in exceptional situations.

Obligations

Education: Higher education will be an advantage, preferably in public administration, fire safety, civil protection, engineering, military science, law.

Experience: at least 2 years in the field;

Qualifications and Personal Skills:

- experience in civil protection, emergency response, executive level in disaster management;

- experience in project cycles (preparation-organization-evaluation) is an advantage;

- professional experience in the humanitarian sector is an advantage;

- advanced knowledge of Romanian and Russian (English will be an advantage);
- category “B” driving license, practical driving experience of at least 3 years.
- willingness to travel for work both domestically and internationally.

Working conditions

Work Schedule: Full-time 5 days a week, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.
