The Red Cross Society of Moldova (hereinafter referred to as RCSM) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and apolitical organization that operates under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova No. 234/1992 of 01.12.1992, law no. 139 of 10.05.2001 regarding the "Red Cross Society of Moldova", and the Statute of the Red Cross and the Statute of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Currently, the RCSM is in a period of intense development and, thanks to the partners of the Society, we are involved in several humanitarian projects, for the implementation of which we are seeking new talents.
-Developing the communication strategy in accordance with the principles of internal communication and in compliance with current legislation, as well as at the level of the International Movement;
-Actively involving and participating in the organization of local, regional, and national events by ensuring the visibility of implemented project activities (photos, PR materials, visibility elements, etc.), drafting informative and communication materials about the organization's mission (brochures, pamphlets, etc.);
-Creating press releases, ensuring the development of articles (written/video) and publishing them on the organization's webpage, Facebook page, and other public web resources;
-Establishing contacts among journalists and creating/developing/updating a database of such contacts;
-Identifying, monitoring funding opportunities (national and international grant calls), planning, organizing fundraising events;
-Initiating, developing communication materials that will contribute to increasing visibility and strengthening the image of MRCM (Moldovan Red Cross Society) activities, such as project management, logistics, human resources, etc.;
-Initiating/providing support to the staff of the Moldovan Red Cross Society in initiating and preparing relevant informational materials;
-Ensuring relations with focal points of communication within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, with a special focus on creating relations with the communication team at the regional office of IFRC Europe, with other national partner organizations;
-Serving as the spokesperson for the Moldovan Red Cross Society in the media, including audiovisual broadcasts, radio, written and digital press;
-Monitoring media coverage, impact, and audience numbers;
-Preparing periodic reports and as needed concerning media trends and coverage received, including upon request;
-Monitoring feedback from internal and external communication, including online, identifying key issues, and providing guidance on appropriate responses.
-Proposing initiatives to raise the visibility of MRCM and organizing relevant activities;
-Performing other tasks necessary for the proper administration of communication activities at the Society level, including urgently, considering the specific nature of humanitarian work, within the scope of the role's responsibilities.
Knowledge:
-computer operation: Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
photo/video editing, advanced Internet navigation skills;
-use of tools for developing PR materials (infographics, video spots, newsletters, etc.);
-advanced level of communication in Romanian, Russian, and English, knowledge of other internationally circulated languages is an advantage;
Skills:
-high level of verbal/written communication, skills in organizing training, giving speeches;
good organizational skills;
-ability to independently present a range of compelling communication contents, including human interest stories, social media content, and audio-visual materials;
-presentation, negotiation, interest creation, interpersonal relationship skills;
-availability for travel within the territory of RM as well as abroad.
